About me

I'm a software engineer based in Kranj, Slovenia. Since 2022, I've worked in full-stack web development, building and maintaining applications with a focus on maintainability, reliability, and providing value for the people using them.

Before software, I spent six seasons as a professional cyclist, racing internationally while studying mechatronics and learning to program. That experience shaped how I work: staying consistent, learning from feedback, and improving the details. Cycling is still part of my life and the inspiration behind my Cycling Data Lab project.

Outside work, I still enjoy cycling, spending time with my family, playing video games, and reading. My reading ranges from fiction and philosophy to science, society, technology, and entrepreneurship. My curiosity about technology extends beyond software too, from computers and AI to electronics.

  1. Full-stack Software Engineer

    Hepra d.o.o.Full-time

    Kranj, Slovenia

    Building and maintaining food and beverage applications for Hepra's long-term client, MXP (MarineXchange). I work across the full stack with .NET, Blazor, SQL, and JavaScript, collaborating in small teams from feature development through release and production support.

    Selected contributions

    • Develop features across POS systems, ordering, reservation, and fulfillment applications, working on frontend interfaces, backend services, and database queries. Also prepare application builds and manage versioning for releases.
    • Helped build a central application configuration tool from the ground up to production as its main contributor, giving clients one place to manage settings across applications instead of editing individual configuration files.
    • Investigate and resolve production issues, working with clients and engineering teams to diagnose problems and support day-to-day operations.

Cycling app for analyzing ride data, setting training zones, and simulating races. Includes tools for gearing, lactate testing, and bike fitting.

Technical highlight

The goal was to create a public application used by real users and to test how Blazor server performs in real world scenarios.

Technical highlight

App uses complete Vercel stack, Next.js web app, Vercel AI SDK for the frontend, Vercel AI Gateway for the backend, Vercel Firewall for limiting per user AI usage and Neon Postgres with pgvector extension for embeddings.

Plant care app for identifying plants from photos and providing care instructions. Supports automatic watering with an ESP32-controlled pump.

Technical highlight

App uses OpenAI API directly for plant identification and care instructions. SignalR is used for real time plant status updates in app. An ESP32 device with capacitive moisture sensors and 5V water pump is used for automatic watering of plants.
